Wang Guosheng (; born May 1956) is a politician of the People's Republic of China and the Governor of Hubei province. He is a native of Dong'e County, Shandong province. ==Career== Wang Guosheng joined the Communist Party of China in June 1975. From 1981 to 1983 he attended Shandong University, studying political science. From October 1991 to February 1995 he was the Communist Party Chief of Gaotang County, Shandong. From February 1995 to December 1997 he was the deputy party chief of Liaocheng prefecture. In August 2000 he became the Communist Party Chief of Lianyungang city in neighbouring Jiangsu province, and was promoted to the position of deputy party chief of Jiangsu in April 2008.〔〔 In December 2010 Wang was transferred to Hubei province, where he held the positions of deputy provincial party chief, vice governor, and acting governor. In February 2011 he became the governor of Hubei province.〔〔 Wang was an alternate member of the 17th Central Committee〔Note: another Wang Guosheng, the general, was a full member of the 17th Central Committee.〕 and is a full member of the 18th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China.〔
